Philo-melos aus (dem Demos) Halai und seine Mitvorsitzenden.Beschluss des Volkes; Simonides S.d.Hegemon aus (dem Demos) Hagnous stellte den Antrag: Dader König der Paionen, Audoleon,schon von früheren Zeiten her wohlwollendist gegenüber dem Volk der Athenerund ihm Dienste erwiesen und mitgearbeitethat an der Freiheit für die Stadt;und als er erfuhr, dass das Volk sichder Stadt bemächtigt hat, er sich mitfreuteüber die eingetretenen glücklichen Ereignissein der Überzeugung, dass auch ihndie Rettung der Stadt angehe; er auchDienste leistet speziell denjenigenAthenern, die sich bei ihm aufhaltenoder in sein Landkommen; er auch als Geschenkan Getreide gegeben hat dem Volksiebentausend und fünfhundertMedimnen aus Makedonien, undauf eigene Kosten in die Häfender Stadt gebracht hat; er auchankündigt, für die ZukunftDienste zu leisten und mitzuarbeitenan der Wiedergewinnung des Piräusund an der Freiheit der Stadt,zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließendas Volk: dass man belobige den KönigAudoleon, S.d. Patraos, aus Paionienwegen seiner Leitung und seines Wohlwollensgegenüber dem Volk der Athener, undihn bekränze mit goldenem Kranzund den Kranz verkündige an denGroßen Dionysien bei der Tragödien-Aufführung; dass für die Anfertigung desKranzes und die VerkündigungSorge tragen die Finanzverwalter;dass auch Athener sein soll erund seine Nachkommen, und esihm erlaubt sei, eingeschrieben zu werden in Phyleund Demos und Phratrie, die er will;dass die Prytanen, die als erstezum Prytanenamt erlost sein werden,über ihn abstimmen lassen in derkommenden Volksversammlung; dass dieThesmotheten für ihn diePrüfung der Ehrung einleiten beidem Gerichtshof, sobald dieser soweitist; dass man auch von ihm ein Standbildaus Bronze zu Pferde aufstelle auf der Agora;dass für die Anfertigung und die Aufstellung Sorgetragen die Finanzverwalter- - -- - -

Simonidesson of Hegemon of Hagnous proposed: sinceAudoleon king of the Paioniansboth from earlier times has beenof good will to the Athenian People,being of service andjoining the effort for the freedom of thecity, and when the People deliveredthe town, on learning this he was delightedat the success that had occurred,considering that the preservationof the city was as one with his own,and he is of service both individually toAthenians spending time withhim and those arrivingin the country; and he has givena gift of grain to the Peopleof 7500 medimnoifrom Macedonia at his ownexpense, having delivered it to theharbours of the city; andfurther he announces that in the futurehe will be of service by joining the effortfor the deliverance of the Piraeusand the freedom of the city,for good fortune, the Peopleshall decide: to praise kingAudoleon son of Patraos of Paioniafor his excellence and good will for theAthenian People and to crownhim with a gold crown,and to announce the crown at thetragedy competition of the GreatDionysia; and the board of administrators shallmanage the making of thecrown and the announcement;and he shall be Athenian,and his descendants, and it shall bepossible for him to enrol in the tribe anddeme and phratry that he wishes;and the prytany thatis allotted to preside nextshall put the vote about him at thenext Assembly, and thecourt presidents shall bring for himthe scrutiny of the award tothe court whenever it ispossible; and they shall stand a bronze statueof him on a horse in the Agora; and the boardof administrators shall managethe making and the setting up- - -- - -
